Stanford beats Hawaii 3-0 2-26

Hawaii led most of Set 1. Stanford finally took the lead 28-27 and now has set point at 29-27. Timout UH. Jarrod Lofy puts down a kill to hold off one set point, Spencer McLachlin ends it with his third kill 30-28.Four Hawaii prep products starting: Setter Kawika Shoji (’Iolani), libero Erik Shoji (Punahou), middle Brad Lawson (Iolani), hitter Spencer McLachlin (Punahou). Jordan Inafuku (Kamehameha) got in briefly as well. Evan Romero with 10 kills, 1 error, to lead the Cardinal. Josh Walker and Jarrod Lofy with four kills each for the Warriors.

Stanford has led for most of set 2. Hawaii tied it at 13 on two straight blocks but a UH service error and Lawson’s kill on a service overpass gives the Cardinal a 15-13 lead at the technical timeout.

wow, Carney’s kill from the backrow is ruled long. it was a foot in. 17-13 Stanford. Timeout UH.
Things not going well for Hawaii. Carney and Dyer both pulled. Tuaniga and Clar in. Stanford up 20-14. Timeout UH.
Stanford led by as much as 23-16. Hawaii has scored 3 straight on Stanford errors. It’s 23-19. Timeout Cardinal.

These refs are sooooo poor. Stanford interfers with Zemljak’s set attempt and Zemljak gets called for an overreach.
Think it’s affect UH a bit mentally. They were up 14-13. Stanford now ahead 15-14 at the TT.

Hawaii trailed 18-15 but has taken the lead at 19-18 on 2 kills by Clar, Carney’s block of Romero and an illegal attack by Kawika Shoji. Timeout Stanford.
