congrats to Molokai and Kamehameha. Six in a row for Kam wow. I was hoping someone else would win it this year but they are the best.
Congratulations Warriors…6 straight and counting!!!!!!!
i decided to watch the div II match and it didn’t disappoint! the fans on both sides were enthusiastic but i gatta give the edge to the molokai fans. in fact, there was a molokai fan who was painted green and had MORE muscles than the hulk! as for the match, the team from molokai pretty much dominated the match from beginning to end. i don’t know how many seniors they have but i’m curious to know if they’ll play for some college afterwards….
Ms. Luis…
(off topic)
How’s about some Harris Poll love!
drank the kool-aid. they are No. 24
Congrats to KS-K!!! Even though they loss to punahou in their last two meetings in the ILH, they pulled out the “W” at the right time. Wasn’t at the match but scores looked very lopsided on both sides. expected a closer match-up. Honestly thought punahou was gonna do it this year, but I’m sure Balding will have team more than ready next year. Congrats to Alohi for all-state 1st team honors her freshman year. She’ll b great for kam in years to come. Also congrats to the lady farmers from moloka’i on hadling uh-lab in straight sets.
and on another note…how about kaiser’s surprise third place finish. the upstart cougars led by nikki taylor will be back nexgt year.
This is the second year I’ve seen either the D-I or D-II final and honestly, the D-II final has always been more exciting, with 4 different teams in the finals in the last 2 years.
The D-I final always seems to be the same teams beating each other up. The D-II final players seem to have more passion and excitement in their play.
I guess parity at the D-I level isn’t around much…
I kind of agree, it does get kind of old when it’s Punahou/Kam every year.
It’s impressive how many good young prospects there are in the state, there was kind of a dry spell of top level recruits after Kanani graduated but now theres Olevao, Maa, Hardy-Robins, Nikki Taylor. Hope UH gets them all.
isn’t nikki taylor a soph or junior?
where did kalei vaivai come from? what’s the 411 on her?
got size?
Vaivai is a 5-6 junior setter. Taylor listed as a 6-2 sophomore Opp//RS

Ever thought about what separates a great coach and mentor from the rest? And why great coaches get results while other get frustrated? “The biggest MISTAKE most people make about a coach is: They mistake a COACH for a BABY SITTER A BABY SITTER tells kids in a nice way that they need to do what they are told to do in a soft and caring voice as to not upset the child. A great baby sitter will smile when the child is throwing a tantrum. A COACH on the other hand is hired to get the best out of a person. They are not there to smile and tell a person what they want to hear. They are hired to get a result because they care about outcomes and getting the most out of a person. A great coach does not play stupid games with irresponsible people who think they want to get the best from themselves yet fail to show it in their actions. This is why great coaches Drop average players from their team all the time. When ADULTS hire a coach, it is not the coaches responsibility to do the work, run the laps or sweat. That’s what the player does. Coaches see how the player can best suit the game and find their unique talents and gifts, then put them in a position to win. If the player fails to turn up, then a good coach will drop the lazy, irresponsible player in turn for the player with a good attitude who is prepared to put in the work to succeed. Next time you are thinking about hiring a coach, just remember the best coaches drop lazy, irresponsible players all the time as they value their years of hard work, learning the art of what they coach and pride themselves on success. If you want to be a great player in the game of life or business; action, implementation and great communication is the key. “Make shit happen”. Great coaches love great clients or great players on their team.
