Thank you for your patience … I am back
By Cindy Luis
Sorry, first time I’ve had a laptop in nearly a month. Thought I had access through my iPhone but discovered I didn’t. Mea culpa.
Headed off to practice. Ann is there for the opening at 6:30. I should be there by 730. I will update either from the arena (depends on if their wireless is working) or from the office.
I do apologize but … without getting into much detail … my mother ended up in the hospital. had to call 911 for an ambulance. spent as much time as I could with her and reluctantly returned yesterday in order to make the first practice. running late this morning. Slept the past 14 hours.
Been gone so long that the dog bit me this morning. I’m sure some of you are feeling like him. His name is Paka. Let’s hope that you think Paka’s action covers all of you and that there will be no more biting. Off to Manoa. Aloha for now. Cindy

We are so glad to have you back but family comes first. In our case we were lost with out you. We hope everything works out, welcome back!
Family comes first Cindy.
You should be proud of what you just did for your Mom. Although she may not or could not have said thank you, please know in your heart that this gesture will always be appreciated by her and your family members.
Aloha Cindy, Welcome Back!!!!
I 2nd what Warrior Dave said. Just happy to have you back. Now the world can start spinning again.
I know what you are going thru, with my 2 parents having dementia, and one always having pneumonia, ending up in the hospital every 6 months or so.
Don’t worry about the people on this blog. You had more pressing matters to attend to. Thank you for your dedication and commitment by returning! Best wishes to your mom and you!
USA Men just got swept by Italy & will not play for a medal…
Saw that but didn’t want to post and spoil it for others who have taped it, like Erik Shoji. I did spoil it for him when I asked him at practice what he thought about the sweep and he said Thanks a lot.
Ooooops.
welcome back cindy!!
although we do miss ur opinions and getting your daily updates, we won’t be mad if you take more time off to tend to things that are much more important than volleyball!! they said it already, family first!
Happy to have you back Cindy!
I’m just happy I was there when she needed to go to the hospital. I had been in St. Louis briefly for a convention and we were supposed to go to my niece’s wedding Saturday, which was also my mom’s birthday. I made the wedding. Mom was released that afternoon but was too weak.
Very hard to leave.
Thanks for everyone’s kind thoughts and prayers.
Welcome back Cindy! Best wishes to you and your family (Paka included).
Glad to have you back!
Welcome back Cindy! … and all the best to your mom!
