		<description>Cindy-
I think Mr. Kaneshiro purposely buried the comment so that if he ever does get up the courage to post it, it would get minimal viewership.
He should have been a lawyer instead. He would fit right in. ( All u attorneys out there chill. It was just a joke!)

<description>On June 3, 2009 @9:56 am Jason Kaneshiro wrote that USC and UH agreed to another home and home series and a date change for the 2010 game. The 2 teams would meet again in 2012 in L.A. and 2013 in HNL.
My comment to that announcement written on June 5, 2009 @ 12:41 am ---
I&#039;m happy that I&#039;ll get a chance to see the #1 team in the land 2x in 2010 and 2013, as they crush the little minions from manoa and westwood.
Coach Mac and his boys will find out that their program will not have advanced at all. Unfortunately, those games may spell the end of the McMackin reign.
The scores will not be close because UH football is bad!!!...
WE ARE!!!!.... SC!!!!....
This comment was not posted. Is the first amendment only applicable to journalist Mr. Kaneshiro?
CINDY-
&quot;I hope Dana can succeed, BUT......
sounds like you feel she&#039;s dooooomed to fail. U know whenever u throw a BUT in there.......

<description>Lyle, if you would clarify your comments about posting about the USC=UH series on some other blog? we were having problems with our blogs during the past few months. there&#039;s still stuff stuck in moderation that we&#039;re just now clearing.

<description>Thank you all for your honesty and kind comments (about me). Of course I don&#039;t think Dana and Charlie are doomed to fail. but the discussion wasn&#039;t about them, it was about Wahine volleyball and Shoji. Men&#039;s volleyball is a different animal, with so few DI programs, there shouldn&#039;t be problems recruiting. Wilton took a lot of grief for not keeping the best local kids home but there was no way he was keeping the Shojis home. Most of the kids at Stanford have played together for Outrigger and the USAJNT. they wanted to stay together. And who could turn down Stanford? Logan Tom couldn&#039;t. she told me &quot;back in the day&quot; she didn&#039;t make a visit to UH because she knew if she did, she&#039;d stay ... and she wanted the Stanford education.
I hope Dana can succeed. but girls basketball has never been a big draw in Hawaii and it translates to the lack of interest in the Wahine. with the exception of the Nani Cockett years, it was a tough sell locally.

and Lyle, you&#039;re right. I did hesitate about posting the comment but freedom of speech is a good thing. thank you for your comments.</description>

<description>cindy, you are spot on with your comments. it really upsets me when ignorant opinions become venomous attacks. the expert &quot;know it alls&quot; always seem to have one thing in common and that is being a fair weather observer. they are not fans and really have no idea of what it takes to get things done in hawaii. we face more challenges to compete and recruit than anyone in the country and we still represent well. all these visually impaired opinions want is self serving satisfaction so they can vicariously say, &quot;i&#039;m a winner&quot;. their own internal frustrations become rageful discontent with everything they don&#039;t know about. so here&#039;s to these pundits of malcontent. word up! IMHO!

<description>Welcome back. All I&#039;ll say is that I think we&#039;ve become a little complacent with volleyball here. We don&#039;t have sell outs even when good teams come here to play us. You&#039;re spot on the factors that affect recruiting. It&#039;s sort of like Alabama football. The pressure to succeed is tremendous. If you want to be #1, you&#039;ve got to pay the price(s) for it.

<description>Cindy, thank you for telling it like it is! Your knowledge of volleyball and your understanding of Hawaii makes you the best at what you do.

		<description>Welcome back Cindy-
So you&#039;re saying Coach Wade and Coach Dana are already doomed to failure?
Coach Dana feels just the opposite. She feels Hawaii is the lure, the hook in getting athletes to come here. ( According to the interview video that I saw of her.)
One of you is wrong. I think it&#039;s Coach Dana. So I agree with you, they are both doomed to failure. (????....)
&quot;Controversial&quot;? It&#039;s a matter of semantics. Is it controversial because the comments are not in alignment with the majority viewpoint? I look at it as a difference of opinion.
That being said, I would like to thank you for posting my comments. As I have never posted any comments that were racially charged, that had religious defamations, or were profanity laced, I felt the comments should be &quot;heard&quot; as they were just opinions.
When I wrote the comments on Coach Wade, I had intended to leave it at that. But then I thought, &quot;let me add on a few things&quot;.
I knew it would make more than a few people &quot;uncomfortable&quot; including you! I knew it would give you pause. You would debate in your mind whether or not you should post the comment.
You truly are a journalist. You can distinguish between truth, fact, and opinion. You do believe in the first amendment and practice it in your chosen profession. You have the courage to post comments whether you agree with them or not. It takes courage because you have to deal with the very people we talk about. Those people can ask their bosses to make a few phone calls and all of a sudden certain viewpoints are no longer available or those people can become uncooperative and make it impossible for you to do your job. Again thank you very much!!!...
I cannot say the same thing of your colleague who runs the football blog. Again it&#039;s a matter of semantics. One persons moderation is anothers censorship.
I posted a comment on his blog about the USC-UH series and it was not posted. It was a test and he failed miserably.
He is a coward!!!... He uses the first amendent only when the mood suits him. At other times, he censors comments that do not reflect favorably on the home team.
He should be ashamed to call himself a journalist and your editor should be appalled to have such a person like that on staff.
The free exchange of different viewpoints is essential in a democracy. It is one of the things that makes our country strong. It allows for patience, tolerance, and understanding. Without it we are no better than Nazi Germany.
Once again Cindy my utmost respect and admiration.
Sincerely,
Lyle
