Tita Ahuna and Mahina Eleneki at the match tonight

Tita Ahuna, captain of the last Wahine title team, and Mahina Eleneki are in the house. They said that Lisa Strand Ma’a asked them to come. Tita doesn’t come often. I asked if they were here for a boost. Tita said, you know, 24 years.

If Shoji didn’t know before, he knows now Billy V. just announced the scores, big cheer for K-State win. probably the only place in American who would have been paying attention.

Well, I’ll cheer for Kansas State against Pepperdine because they have a libero from Hawaii even though our team beat Pepperdine twice this season. Pepperdine would think revenge if UH faced them in the regional, so emotions would run high, while Kansas State could be pretty cocky by then if they won and could be caught off guard. Conversely, if Hawaii lost to USC, I would much rather cheer for Kansas State against USC, both because of the Hawaii libero and because it would be the Cinderella team. I bet Hawaii cheered that Kansas State upset Nebraska, but then that makes the latter even more of a formidable team to contend with should they both match up in the regional. Anyway, win or lose for Hawaii next week, the entire regional should be an interesting one to watch. Go Bows!
