The fact that he has purchased multiple properties on the islands and helped to bring national respect to a small island school is completely being ignored by a handful of people with ignorant expectations regarding this profession. He deserves a thank you and a warm welcome when ever he comes into town to visit friends and spend time in the State that he has loved for the bigger part of his life. If the contract stipulates that JJ gives back 50% of his annual salary in the event of getting a job somewhere else, he will have to pay it back. What Herman said way back when is irrelevant. I feel that JJ did us real dirt, but we shouldn't let that make us lower ourselves. UH does not have the legal talent nor the case facts to win a jury trial on this one and our State will flounder. Look at DLNR's recent track record.
