UH-GCU rewind

Wasn’t that fun   … NOT.

so glad i’m not having to write on deadline, did chase down a few quotes for Tsai from Wade. Charlie said they needed to steady out. played a lot of people (14) sometimes out of necessity. Said he was happy that the players kept fighting. Said to give GCU credit.

Asked him about not closing out sets again. he said it’s been a pattern, that they need to learn how to close it out.

anyway, Hunt with a season-high 23 kills, West 13-1-20, Sedore and Averill with 11 kills. Castello career-high 22 digs. UH with 8 blocks, Hunt in on 4, West 5.

Match lasted 249. UH with 3 aces, 16 SEs. GCU 22 SEs, no aces

getting kicked out so i’ll say good night.

we’ll see how they come back tomorrow. think the lineup I’d go with is Averill at Opp, Sedore at L2 and just go with that.

Good news is West was 13-1-20. bad is Lofy 0-1-6. think they’ll need both middles if they’re going to do anything this season.

IMO we need to stick with JP, although I do like Sedore.

Castello is totallythe team MVP thus far, I cringe thinking about how bad it would be without him.

Nutty. OC12 replaying the game right now. Keep you up better than coffee this game, if you ain’t seen it yet (good thing it’s Friday).

Usually, w/this kind o’ “to 5 sets-Hawaii-on-the-winning end” men’s v-ball 2 night series matchup, unless it’s a UCLA or other v-ball Warrior archenemy, Hawaii has an easier time in the 2nd night.

Wade should make the run couple miles after the game. Sheesh. Grand Canyon? Actually never heard of this school ’til Wade’s Call the Coach radio show from this week.

This game was nearly the v-ball Warrior’s equivalent of the Warriors v. Utah St. Football game from last year. Yep, “Whew” is the better “W” word more relevant than “Warriors” or “Win” for tonight’s game. Get rid of the sleeveless shirts for the v-ball Warriors, methinks; seems bad luck. No?

I also think it is a little early to give up on Marks. He has “game”. I thought that Lily looked good when given the chance. Castello was the star of this game and Lofey was a complete non-factor. We have a ton of good players, we need the one’s who can become really good players to step up.

It was still a win, which is good. One thing you can say is that it is an adventure when the men play because you don’t know if they are going to win or not and you don’t know who is going to be on the floor at any given time, which kind of makes it interesting.
