Aren’t the HHSAA preliminary rounds starting then on OC16?

  2. gobows Says:

Cool, So OC is carrying it then. Good news since I don’t get ESPNU

  3. Cindy Luis Says:

hmmm, if you can get 219 then you are getting ESPNU

  4. Cindy Luis Says:

ESPNU is channel 219 if you are on Oceanic Cable. has nothing to do with OC16.

  5. jeff Says:

espnu not everybody has that ouch !What are the chances of the Wahine hosting anything in the NCAA?

  6. Cindy Luis Says:

Yes, not everyone has ESPNU. many bars do. Our office doesn’t but we have it at home so I’m going to watch from home and do the rewrite.
as for hosting …. it would have to be the first-second rounds (or subregional) between Dec. 3-6 on consecutive nights. Hawaii will be putting in a bid … as they always do.
regional sites are predetermined… stanford, Florida, Minnesota and Omaha.
Who knows what the NCAA committee will do. all depends on who else gets in, what sort of “pod’ they can group teams in regionally. and it’s always easier to ship one team (Hawaii) than to bring in three to Hawaii. Still they’d make money if they gave Hawaii the subregional, something that very few other places can say. And with Shoji getting his 1,000th it would be a nice way from them to say thank you to him for his years in the sport.
That being said, don’t hold your breath.

wasn’t there an article, by the SB, and HA of an NCAA ruling within the past 2 season, that automatically allowed the Top 4 overall seeds to host the subregionals?

  8. Cindy Luis Says:

Don’t believe it was in the SB. It may have been in the HA. It would make sense. but unless someone puts in to host, they don’t get it. If Hawaii’s RPI stays in the 20s, i don’t know about them getting a top-4 seed. think about ‘04 when they were ranked No. 1 and undefeated. they went to Ft. Collins for the subregional. drawing a blank as to what their RPI was.
