Hawaii up a spot to No. 4. CSUN splitting at Ball State dropped the Matadors from third to fifth, moving BYU to third and UH to fourth. Stanford the unanimous No. 1 pick, Pepperdine second.
Umlauft co-player of the week for the second week, this time sharing with Stanford’s Brad Lawson.

Congrats to Jonas. Seems like he is playing his best at exactly the right time.
Congratulations Jonas!
I wonder why Jonas doesn’t get recognized by AVCA as POW. Seems like the same disrespect the women get from NCAA.
It has been interesting to see how the mpsf player of the week is rarely the avca player of the week. and sometimes the AVCA POW is out of the MPSF but not the POW of the MPSF.
You have to look at who was picked instead of Umlauft. UH splitting with Pepperdine is not as noteworthy as Rutgers beating Penn State.
As for the Wahine … UH having a great game is nothing remarkable in the eyes of the AVCA.
